Pirouettes

“Pirouettes”

The “pirouette” is a term from the world of dance and refers to a centered, single or multiple rotation around your own body axis, usually on one leg.

The works of Christian Nienhaus describe the world in which he moves and reflect his thoughts photorealistically on the canvas.

The extremely precise and elaborate paintings in acrylic, lacquer and mixed media show a hyper-real image of a world that distorts reality.

The inspiration and the characteristic reason and drive behind all his work comes from the Christian Nienhaus through the influences of man, nature, technology and literature. He creates stories in which these phases of feeling manifest themselves and are reflected in his works through transparent layers in order to make the viewer’s view of the picture more and more accessible. The recurring questioning of his thoughts and the destruction of individual layers show the artist’s wild and creative spirit.
