Modern art-historical thinking pushes artists into a particular field in order to pigeonhole them. Nienhaus is trying to escape precisely this condition. His own development is the mirror of his existence. Through his art, Nienhaus shows his own life, shaped by experiences, feelings, literature and dreams. The daily changes brought about by fluctuating life are precisely the influences that Nienhaus wants to capture. His own interest, nourished by the mass of information, presents him with new tasks every day. Writing, language and music became a fundamental building block in his artistic ideology. In his pictures and objects, this philosophy is always a basic element that is sometimes hidden or literally catches the eye (ear) of the viewer.<\/p>\n
Many works are often “preliminary drawings” for kinetic objects that Nienhaus builds from various materials such as steel, glass, PVC and electronics. Old materials that have already been disposed of find a new use. Through a fusion with state-of-the-art technology, fascinating objects are then created that are controlled by the viewer or that activate themselves using sensors.<\/p>\n
